Created in 1988, the Cine Mourguet is managed by the association Son Image Rencontres Fidésiennes (SIRF). Each year, it welcomes more than 60 000 moviegoers, a third of them schoolchildren. Since 1991, the theater has held a "Caravan of African Cinema" festival every two years.
On August 20, 2014, the Cine Mourguet opened its two theaters on a site near the existing location in order to accommodate its audiences in two modern structures (200 and 80 seats), equipped with the latest in digital projection. For its fall Opening Day, the fabulous Françoise Arnoul, a familiar presence at the Lumière festival, was welcomed to the Ciné Mourguet as its official honorary supporter. The editorial line, based on a reputation for quality programming, focuses on proximity and conviviality, organizing several debates a month and allowing guests and personalities from the world of associations to participate.
Equipped in 2K and audio loop technology.
